SAR BBQ

10/03/2009 11:00 am

3 OCTOBER 2009
The Pierce County Search and Rescue Council will be having a Unit
Orientation and BBQ on Saturday, 3 October at Frontier Park from 1100
until dusk.

This gathering has a 2-fold purpose; the first is a Pierce County SAR
orientation for everyone in the units and the Pierce County community to
have a better understanding of who and what our county SAR assets are and
to renew inter unit relationships in a non-emergency setting. Each unit
is requested to bring a display and/or equipment and have someone present
to answer questions. The second portion is purely social (the BBQ). It
has been a long time since we have gotten together and the time is right.
Each unit may do a little recruiting as well.

The Sheriff's Department and Duty Officers will be providing and grilling
the hot dogs and hamburgers for everyone attending this event. Each
person/family attending needs to bring a picnic side dish to share. In
order for the sheriff's department to have a fairly accurate head count
to purchase the hamburgers and hot dogs, we need to know who is planning
on coming, ESAR members are asked to bring their 48-hour packs (just for
display) and wear something that identifies you as ESAR and be prepared
to enjoy the day. The whole family may come if they wish. If you are
planning on helping ESAR out for the day, call Sally at 253-272-0846.
Hope to see you there We need the head count as soon as possible.
